I have ALWAYS LOVED cows. I used to live near a farm and saw them daily for many years.
If you don’t own a barn or a lot of land, you can opt to own a miniature cow. You read that right, you can own a mini pet cow!
Big Picture Agriculture say that there are around 26 breeds of mini cows. They are often used for small-scale milk production, as pets, or for breeding.
How much do miniature cows cost?
Good question. They vary in price depending on what breed of cow you choose. But for a rough estimate the fluffy cows can range from $1,800 to $3,500.
Now let’s put that into perspective. A regular milking cow can cost $1,400 to $1,800.
How much milk does a mini cow produce?
A miniature cow surprisingly only produces around 2 – 5 gallons of milk a day compared to a regular milking cow which can produce 7-10 gallons.
So if you are in ot for the milk, you may be disappointed!
Are miniature cows easy to take care of?
Unlike full-sized cows, miniature cows do not require expensive handling equipment. They make exceptional pets which do not need a lot of specialized care like their full size counterparts.
What do miniature cows eat?
Miniature cows enjoy corn as well as oats, barley, wheat, sorghum, and soybeans.
Miniature cows are easier on your budget. They eat around a third less than a regular dairy cow.
